Greenwood Village, Colorado is situated in Arapahoe County, immediately south of Denver, encompassing 8.3 square miles.
Greenwood Village is a unique community with a population of approximately 16,000 residents and a “daytime” population made up of approximately 45,000 members of our business community.
Property Taxes: Greenwood Village’s mill levy rate is 2.932 mills and is one of the lowest mill levy rates in the Denver Metro area. As a comparison, Aurora has a mill levy of 10.494 mills, Englewood 7.911 mills, Littleton 6.662 mills, and Centennial 5.047 mills.

Students residing in Greenwood Village are within either the Cherry Creek School District or the Littleton Public School District. The Cherry Creek School District and Littleton Public School Schools are nationally recognized for their award-winning academic excellence and serve the residents of Centennial.

Littleton Public Schools (LPS) is a premier school district located a few miles south of downtown Denver. Its slogan, “Big enough to serve you; small enough to know you” is an accurate portrayal of the district’s culture. With a longstanding tradition of excellence, LPS is the only school district in the Denver metro area to receive the Colorado Department of Education’s (CDE) highest accreditation rating all seven years it has been offered. And with a history of close community ties, LPS has passed every bond election brought to a vote.
Littleton Public Schools serves 28 square miles and includes the majority of the City of Littleton, Town of Columbine Valley, and portions of the municipalities of Bow Mar, Centennial, Greenwood Village and the City of Englewood.
With about 15,000 students, LPS offers a comprehensive education from preschool through Grade 12. Students attend 13 elementary schools, four middle schools, three high schools, several alternative programs, preschools and two charter schools.
Greenwood Village parks, trails and open spaces are a large part of what makes the Village such a special place to live and visit. The Village’s most significant open space area, the Marjorie Perry Nature Preserve, provides picturesque views of the Rocky Mountains and a peaceful setting for users to relax, reflect and enjoy the natural environment. The Village also has award winning parks such as Westlands Park and Silo Park where families can play in the playground or enjoy a picnic in the park.
The Village also offers the residents a skateboard park at William McKinley Carson Park, and parks for equestrian users such as Rollin D. Barnard Park and Alexander Lane Equestrian Park. The Village is fortunate to have two significant regional trail systems traverse through the community: The High Line Canal Trail on the west side of the city and the Cherry Creek Trail on the east side of the city.
